I was lucky enough to go on an English paper piecing workshop at the lovely Sudbury Hall, a National Trust property in Derbyshire. The talented teacher Pam showed us though the start of English paper piecing and broderie perse . The hexagons and triangles were based on the lovely 18th century coverlet on display at the hall.
I met some lovely ladies. Workshop was in the Long Gallery. You might recognise it from Pride and Prejudice (1995) interiors of pemberley .
The coverlet is on display in the velvet bedroom.
It was a great workshop in the most fabulous setting. Would certainly go on another one.

Jan from Sew and Sow Farm sent me. I'm another Jane Austen fan, and enjoyed perusing your blog. I loved seeing the quilt block from the vintage transfer of the little girl- that is my vintage, too!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comments Donna. You have great taste. 😄
